Keratin Hair Straightening Treatment Steps

Step 1 – Shampoo and Cleanse At the basin, we wash and cleanse your hair twice with a clarifying shampoo. This removes any build-up of pollutants and oil, opens the pores, and prepares the hair to absorb the keratin more effectively.

Step 2 – Semi-dry hair We then blow-dry off most of the excess moisture from the hair in readiness for the keratin.

Step 3 – Application We apply the treatment by parting the hair and applying the keratin solution generously throughout.

Step 4 – Blow Dry With the keratin treatment applied, we then blow-dry your hair completely to seal the treatment.

Step 5 – Heated Irons applied We then use extra hot hair irons to finish sealing the keratin treatment and close cuticles. We section the hair into small segments of about 10 centimetres and iron it straight. We repeat this process 7 to 10 times for each segment until the keratin is completely sealed. Two stylists may perform this process, as it can be time consuming and is the longest part of the keratin process.

Step 6 – Wash and Style At this point, the process is complete. Before you leave the salon, we rewash with a gentle shampoo, condition and style to complete the look of your relaxed and amazing new hair.

Between treatment care

Regular shampoos and conditioners can strip the keratin from the hair, and will reverse the results of the treatment, so your stylist will recommend a keratin based shampoo and conditioner to help maintain the keratin treatment between salon visits.
